Mods Expand the Gameplay Experience

With Stellar Blade now on Steam, modding support appears here to stay - including mature content modifications. ShiftUp CEO and Game Director Hyung-tae Kim believes mods enhance gameplay possibilities. In a June 14 interview with This Is Game, Kim expressed positive views on modding, though cautioned against abuse. "We draw the line at hacking or disrupting normal game functions," he clarified.
Technical Director Dong-gi Lee warned about potential technical issues: "Mods undergo no official testing. While players can enjoy modded content, we recommend reverting to original files if experiencing performance problems."

Regarding adult-themed modifications, Kim stated: "Creativity shouldn't be restricted in a mature-rated game." He emphasized player ownership rights, saying "Purchasers should enjoy the game as they choose. While we trust players' judgment, we must intervene if content becomes publicly harmful."
Kim distinguished between ownership and rental models: "Players purchase full ownership rights. What happens post-purchase falls under their responsibility. Community self-regulation generally handles most concerns effectively."

The director reaffirmed Stellar Blade's hands-off approach: "We won't impose sanctions unless extreme circumstances require intervention - which we haven't encountered yet."
Planned DLC Evolves Into Sequel

ShiftUp's May 16 investor presentation revealed plans for a Stellar Blade sequel targeting 2027 release. Kim confirmed development while noting the team's current focus on the PC version. "Originally planned as DLC, the content expanded beyond scope and became its own project," he explained, adding "While 2027 is ambitious, we're committed to delivering an exceptional sequel."
Kim acknowledged narrative shortcomings in the original, attributing this to prioritizing gameplay mechanics and Korea's developing narrative design expertise. "We're carefully planning story improvements for the sequel rather than rushing additional content now."

The PC release continues gaining momentum, achieving over 192,078 concurrent players (SteamDB) and "Very Positive" Steam reviews. Game8 awarded Stellar Blade PC a 90/100 for visual enhancements, new content, and global accessibility following regional restriction removals.
