Karma System, Ghost Zois Teased by inZOI
inZOI's Upcoming Karma System and Ghostly Encounters
inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim recently revealed intriguing details about a planned Karma system, introducing a paranormal element to the game's realistic setting. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.
High Karma Zois will transition to the afterlife, while those with insufficient points remain as ghosts, bound to the world until they accrue enough Karma to move on. The specific actions required to increase Karma remain undisclosed for now.
Kim emphasizes that ghost interactions will be carefully balanced to avoid overshadowing core gameplay. In the Early Access version, players will only encounter ghosts under specific circumstances and at designated times.
While the game prioritizes realism, Kim expresses interest in exploring more fantastical elements in future updates, suggesting that the Karma system is a step toward adding a unique layer of depth and intrigue to the simulation of life.
A Glimpse into Karma Interactions
A sponsored video by content creator MadMorph offered a brief preview of the Karma Interaction system. This feature allows Zois to perform various actions, impacting their Karma score. Examples shown include negative actions like secretly farting on another Zoi, and positive actions such as disposing of trash or liking a friend's post (though the latter wasn't demonstrated in the video).
While the Early Access release (March 28, 2025 on Steam) will focus on the living Zois' experiences, the Karma Interaction system promises to significantly expand gameplay possibilities in future updates.
