Arrowhead Aims for Helldivers 2 Longevity, Warhammer 40,000 Collab Considered
Helldivers 2 continues to dominate the gaming world, having recently clinched two prestigious BAFTA Game Awards: Best Multiplayer and Best Music, out of five nominations. These accolades cap off a stellar awards season, underscoring a phenomenal year for Swedish developer Arrowhead.

It's worth noting that Helldivers 2 has not only captured the hearts of gamers but also set records as the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever, amassing an impressive 12 million copies sold within just 12 weeks. This milestone is unlikely to be surpassed by any other first-party Sony-developed game. Since its explosive launch, the game has faced its share of challenges, including a reversal on PSN account requirements on Steam, review-bomb campaigns, and a community frequently at odds with the game itself due to fluctuating nerfs and buffs.
Arrowhead has been navigating the complexities of managing a vastly expanded and more mainstream playerbase. Now, 14 months post-launch on PC and PlayStation 5, the developer is reflecting on the journey so far. Have they begun to master the harsh, relentless landscape of live-service gaming? And following the exciting Killzone collaboration, could a partnership with Warhammer 40,000 be on the horizon?
To delve deeper into these questions, IGN had the opportunity to sit down with Alex Bolle, the production director of Helldivers 2.
