Hazelight Games proudly announced that their latest co-op adventure game, Split Fiction, has enjoyed a phenomenal launch, selling an impressive 2 million copies within just one week of its release. The game, featuring a captivating dual-protagonist narrative, hit the shelves on March 6 and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The studio expressed their astonishment and gratitude on social media, overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reception from both new and returning fans.

Just 48 hours after its debut, Split Fiction had already captivated 1 million players with the sci-fi tale of Mio and Zoe. Remarkably, an additional million copies were sold in the subsequent five days, highlighting the game's rapid rise in popularity. The actual number of players is likely even higher, thanks to the game's innovative Friend's Pass feature. This allows one player to buy the game and invite a friend to join in the fun at no extra charge, significantly amplifying the game's reach and impact within the gaming community.

Hazelight's previous success, 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, followed a similar trajectory. It initially sold around 1 million copies shortly after its launch in March 2021, and by February 2023, sales had soared to 10 million copies. By October 2024, an astounding 20 million copies had been sold, showcasing Hazelight's consistent ability to deliver hit games.

In IGN's review of Split Fiction, the game was praised as “an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another,” further cementing its place as a must-play title for fans of cooperative gameplay and innovative storytelling.
