For all the completionists and trophy hunters out there, you’ll be thrilled to discover that Monster Hunter Wilds offers a variety of challenging achievements to conquer. Fear not, as we're here to guide you through unlocking all the hidden achievements in this thrilling game.
All Hidden and Secret Achievements in Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds features 12 secret achievements. Seven of these are linked to the main story and will unlock naturally as you progress through the game. The remaining five achievements are tied to optional objectives, which we'll detail below:
- I Caught a Shooting Star!: Caught a creature in the desert that shines like a shooting star.
- A Prize Held High: Caught a creature that bears an Ancient Wyvern Coin.
- A Legacy Restored: Obtained an Artian Weapon of Rarity 8.
- Seasoned Hunter: Hunted 50 Tempered monsters.
- Top of the Food Chain: Hunted 50 Apex Predators.
While some of these achievements are straightforward, others require a bit more effort. Let's dive into how to unlock each one.
I Caught a Shooting Star!
To achieve this, venture to Zone 11 of the Windward Plains at night. Arm yourself with screamer pods and keep an eye out for a Baunos flying near the gathering spots. Use the screamer pods to stun the Baunos, then swiftly capture it with your Capture Net.
A Prize Held High
You can tackle this achievement in any map, but focus on areas with tight corners and dead ends. Head to Zone 6 of the Scarlet Forest and look for a small puddle of water. Use your Capture Net to catch the small golden crab lurking there. Keep in mind that when you're close to a creature carrying the Ancient Wyvern Coin, Alma will often comment on it, hinting at the creature's treasure.
A Legacy Restored
Once you reach High Rank missions, you can start crafting Artian gear. To obtain Rarity 8 weapons and materials, you'll need to hunt Tempered monsters using Rarity 7 gear. This will pave the way to restoring the legacy.
Seasoned Hunter
Don't confuse Tempered monsters with Frenzied monsters, which are outlined in red on the minimap. Tempered monsters are marked in purple. Starting from Chapter 4 in High Rank content, you can begin hunting or capturing them to work towards this achievement.
Top of the Food Chain
This achievement is quite straightforward, but it's important to know which monsters qualify as Apex Predators. Only the following monsters count towards this achievement:
- Rey
- Dau
- Uth
- Duna
- Nu
- Udra
- Jin
- Dahaad
By hunting 50 of these Apex Predators, you'll claim your spot at the top of the food chain.
That's how you can unlock all the hidden achievements in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more tips and information on the game, including the best gathering set to use, be sure to check out The Escapist.
