Take-Two Discloses GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Sales Figures

Despite being over a decade old, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) continues to impress, selling an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone. Since its launch in September 2013, GTA 5 has secured its place as one of the best-selling video games of all time. Its enduring popularity is partly fueled by the vibrant multiplayer mode, GTA Online, which remains a significant driver of the game's success. Take-Two keeps the community engaged with continuous updates, such as the Agents of Sabotage release in December 2024.

Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) also continues to thrive, with sales reaching 70 million copies, up by 3 million in the last quarter. Since its release in October 2018, RDR2 has captivated gamers worldwide, adding to the impressive portfolio of Take-Two Interactive.

Looking ahead, fans have much to anticipate. Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is confirmed for a fall 2025 release, marking it as one of the most eagerly awaited games in history. In the meantime, Mafia: The Old Country is slated for a summer release, and Borderlands 4 is expected later in the year, though specific dates for the latter have yet to be announced.

For those anxious about potential delays of GTA VI, rest assured that the game is still on track for an autumn release. This was confirmed in Take-Two's latest financial presentation. However, CEO Strauss Zelnick did mention that Rockstar Games is adopting a meticulous approach to development, which might necessitate additional time, as seen with previous projects like GTA 5 and RDR2.
