King of Hill Revival Sets August Premiere With First Look

The long-awaited revival of Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' King of the Hill has unveiled its updated time-lapse opening sequence, alongside confirmation that the series will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ on August 4.

The official X/Twitter account today shared what appears to be the complete opening credits for the first new King of the Hill episodes since 2010. The footage reveals Hank, Peggy, and Bobby Hill's journey from leaving to eventually returning to their Texas hometown of Arlen.

According to Hulu's official synopsis: "After years working propane jobs in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a transformed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby pursues his culinary dreams in Dallas while navigating his twenties with former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane."

While the refreshed opening hints at Bobby's matured character and Dale Gribble's mayoral ambitions, Judge and Daniels' revival remains largely mysterious. Initial reports about Hank Hill's comeback surfaced via THR in 2022, before Hulu secured streaming rights to what would become Season 14 in 2023. The iconic time-lapse intro series was officially confirmed later that year to continue after a substantial temporal leap.

Most original cast members have reunited for Hulu's revival, including Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Voice actor Johnny Hardwick (who passed away in August 2023 at 64) completed recordings for his role as Dale Gribble before his death.

Fans can return to Arlen's familiar streets this August. Until then, revisit earlier previews featuring Bobby's grown-up character released late last year.
