Today marks the launch of the highly anticipated A Pirate’s Fortune DLC for Star Wars Outlaws, now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Fans are buzzing with excitement, particularly over the inclusion of none other than the infamous Hondo Ohnaka, a fan-favorite rogue whose charm has captivated audiences across various Star Wars media.

Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, revealed that the inspiration behind this expansion stems from the team’s deep affection for Hondo Ohnaka, the Weequay pirate who has made appearances in both Darth Maul comics and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. “There’s just something about Hondo,” Rechner shared with IGN. “The scoundrel vibe combined with the pirate fantasy—it naturally fits within our narrative.”

Rechner also hinted at the evolving dynamic between Hondo and Kay, the protagonist of Star Wars Outlaws. “As Kay learns leadership, having Hondo around as either a mentor—or perhaps not—opens up intriguing possibilities.” The DLC introduces the Rokana Raiders, the Miyuki Trade League offering ship upgrades, and a brand-new blaster capability known as Shock.

In addition to the current platforms, Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. While Rechner kept details sparse regarding potential new features, he teased upcoming announcements. “We’ll dive deeper into what the Switch 2 brings later, but rest assured, there’s plenty more to come.”

Potential enhancements for the Nintendo Switch 2 include controller functionalities mimicking a mouse and an improved GameChat system. Stay tuned for further updates as Star Wars Outlaws continues to expand its universe.
