Pokémon TCG Pocket Update: Trading Feature Delayed Until Autumn
The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was met with excitement, but it quickly encountered its first major challenge with the introduction of the trading feature. Initially, trading was hindered by the need for a difficult-to-obtain currency and strict limitations on what could be traded and with whom. However, a recent update aims to rectify these issues.
A significant change is the complete removal of Trade Tokens. Now, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will require Shinedust, which players will earn by opening booster packs and receiving cards already registered in their Card Dex. If you currently hold Trade Tokens, you can convert them into Shinedust. This is important because Shinedust is also used to acquire flair, and further modifications to this system are planned. An upcoming update will also enable players to share cards they're interested in trading through an in-game function.
As previously noted, the initial implementation of trading seemed half-hearted, largely due to the necessary restrictions in a digital environment to prevent abuse. These changes, however, are not scheduled to roll out until at least autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring season. While Pokémon TCG Pocket's team has acknowledged these issues, the pace of addressing them has been slower than many fans would like.
