Devil May Cry Season 2 Teaser Reveals 2026 Release
Hold onto your hats — a fresh teaser for Devil May Cry: The Animated Series has just dropped.
Although only a minute long, it offers a thrilling glimpse into what Season 2 has in store when it arrives next year… and yes, “2026” is as specific as the release date gets for now.
“Dante vs. Vergil. Brother vs. brother. Devil May Cry: Season 2 premieres 2026, only on Netflix,” announces a post on the official Devil May Cry X/Twitter account. The teaser then dives straight into the sibling showdown, picking up right after Vergil's introduction at the end of Season 1. Watch it below:

This animated adaptation of Capcom’s beloved Devil May Cry games was spearheaded by Castlevania executive producer Adi Shankar, focusing on the turbulent dynamic between brothers Dante and Vergil. Shankar recently confirmed he’s shifting his attention to a Duke Nukem series after securing the screen rights from Gearbox Software.
“Season 2 is a vvvvveryyyyy different show. Yes, Dante levels up,” Shankar noted recently. “His abilities sharpen, and viewers will see him embody more of the iconic flair that game fans love. That said, I’m still telling a story — great characters evolve through growth, not just victory. What makes Dante compelling isn’t invincibility; it’s his capacity to learn and grow stronger.”
We awarded Devil May Cry Season 1 an 8/10 in our review, describing it as: “A fun, if occasionally predictable, video game adaptation featuring one of the year’s standout animated episodes.”
Castlevania Season 1 — another Shankar-led project — also earned an 8.1/10 from us back in 2017. Shankar is also involved in several other Netflix productions, such as the Castlevania: Nocturne spinoff, an Assassin’s Creed series, and even an animated PUBG show.
