Marvel Rivals to Add 2 Heroes Every 3 Months
NetEase Games is committed to keeping the excitement alive for Marvel Rivals players through regular updates. The developers have planned to roll out a new update approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes every quarter. This ensures that players always have fresh content to explore upon returning to the game.
In a recent interview, game director Guangyun Chen explained that each seasonal update is divided into two parts: the first half introduces one new hero, while the second half brings in the next hero. This strategy keeps both the audience and players engaged. Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also offer updates that include new maps, storylines, and objectives.
Some of the characters that have been introduced or teased include Blade, who is not yet playable, and Altron, who has been mentioned due to leaks. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has recently been unveiled, adding to the anticipation surrounding the game.
According to the Chinese publication GameLook, Marvel Rivals has generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion of the earnings coming from the Chinese market. Marvel, already a powerhouse in the film industry, has made a strategic move into the gaming sector with this title.
Despite a less successful venture with Square Enix's Avengers, Marvel Rivals has successfully filled a gap in the game-service genre. The NetEase studio has delivered a top-notch heroic shooter with a roster of engaging characters, which has been well-received since its launch.
