KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Shutdown - Offline Version in the Works?
Today marks a bittersweet milestone for fans of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, as January 30th is the game's official last day before server shutdown. As we bid farewell to this engaging title, it's natural to wonder about the legacy and future steps for both the developers and the community.
How Long Did This One Last?
Developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before being handed over to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days had a commendable run. The global servers operated for 3.5 years, while the Japanese version lasted an impressive 5 years. For an anime-based gacha game, this duration is quite respectable, especially considering the revenue had been on a downward trend.
The developers have shifted their focus to another exciting project, the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. In the lead-up to the shutdown, they maintained engagement with the community, releasing voiced story updates and a final song just three weeks ago. Additionally, a farewell livestream was held in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, to give fans a proper send-off.
The Japanese version of the game went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing players to relive the adventures of Kazuma and his quirky companions at any time. They also provided an offline version, ensuring continued access to the game's story, voice lines, and character collection.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global won't be getting an offline version or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still visit the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the beloved cast.
As we conclude our coverage on the shutdown of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, stay tuned for more gaming news, including updates on Karrablast and Shelmet during the February Community Day event in Pokémon Go.
