Big Interview: Nintendo's Doug Bowser in San Francisco
Nintendo officially opened its new store in San Francisco today, May 15, located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks the second official Nintendo retail space in the U.S., following the highly successful New York location, which was previously called the Nintendo World Store but underwent renovations and rebranding to become Nintendo NY before reopening in 2016.
IGN had the opportunity to visit the San Francisco store and explore what Nintendo has prepared inside. We also sat down with Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser to discuss the reasoning behind opening the company’s first West Coast store now.
Naturally, we couldn’t pass up the chance to ask about everything related to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, set to release on June 5. We questioned Bowser about the console's availability across the U.S. upon launch and moving forward, the much-discussed Game-Key Cards, and much more.
