Exciting news for *Death Stranding* fans — the highly anticipated sequel, *Death Stranding 2: On The Beach*, is set to launch on June 26, 2025. During a recent interview with IGN, actor Norman Reedus, who plays protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, shared some intriguing insights about the upcoming game and even hinted at the possibility of starring in the franchise’s potential film adaptation.

When asked if he would be open to playing himself in a movie based on the *Death Stranding* universe, Reedus responded enthusiastically: “If it was an option, yeah, for sure.” He added, however, that details are still scarce. “I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course.” The film adaptation, announced last month from director Michael Sarnoski and studio A24, remains in its earliest stages, but fan excitement continues to build.

Reedus also reflected on his experience working with legendary game creator Hideo Kojima, expressing admiration for his visionary mind while acknowledging how difficult it can be to fully grasp Kojima’s creative direction. “As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at,” Reedus admitted. “He’s just that guy — he’s out there and he’s got great ideas.”

Regarding the narrative of *Death Stranding 2*, Reedus noted that the story feels more cohesive this time around. “Story-wise, I did know what was happening more [in the sequel]. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to.” This clarity, paired with increased gameplay intensity, has fans eager to uncover the next chapter in the bizarre yet compelling world Kojima has crafted.

Despite the surreal nature of the *Death Stranding* universe, Reedus remains fully committed to the journey. “It’s always a trip working on those things,” he told IGN. “It’s great, but it’s wild.” With the release date confirmed for June 26, 2025, anticipation for *Death Stranding 2: On The Beach* is only going to grow.
