Best Class Choices for Citizen Sleeper 2 Revealed
At the start of *Citizen Sleeper 2*, you'll be presented with the option to choose one of three different classes: Operator, Machinist, and Extractor. Here's a detailed look at each class to help you decide which one aligns best with your play style and role-playing preferences.
Which Citizen Sleeper 2 Class Should You Choose?
The best class for you in *Citizen Sleeper 2* hinges on your preferred play style. After completing the game, here’s my take on the three classes, including their abilities and ideal role-play scenarios.
Operator
The Operator class starts with a + in Interface, base levels in Intuit and Engage, and no points in Engineer. They cannot level up Endure. Their unique ability lets them accrue Stress in exchange for re-rolling their lowest dice.
While I appreciate the Operator's versatility, it's not my top pick. As you advance and upgrade your abilities, the Operator becomes significantly more powerful. However, the early game can be challenging. Interface is a valuable skill, but the re-roll ability can sometimes leave you with undesirable results.
From a role-play perspective, the Operator is ideal for players who want a versatile character that can adapt to various roles within the game's narrative.
Machinist
The Machinist class begins with a + in Engineer, base levels in Interface and Intuit, and no points in Endure. They cannot level up Engage. Their ability allows them to gain Stress in exchange for adding +2 to their lowest dice, and they lose 2 Stress on a positive outcome. As the game progresses, they can further enhance their dice and reduce Stress.
Having played through *Citizen Sleeper 2* as a Machinist, I found it to be my favorite class. The ability to manipulate dice and reduce Stress is incredibly useful, especially given the frequency of Engineer and Interface checks. Managing Stress is a key part of the game, and the Machinist's abilities make this less daunting.
For role-play enthusiasts, the Machinist is perfect for those drawn to the technical and mechanical aspects of the game's world.
Extractor
The Extractor starts with a + in Endure, base levels in Engineer and Engage, and no points in Interface. They cannot level up Intuit. Their ability lets them gain Stress to add +2 to the lowest dice of their crew, and as the game progresses, they can further enhance crew performance.
I find the Extractor's ability to be very effective. Managing crew during Contracts can be tricky, and the Extractor makes these situations less risky. Starting with a bonus to Endure is beneficial given its frequent use in the game. However, you may find yourself with a surplus of crew members with similar skills.
For those who enjoy playing a tough, resilient character, the Extractor is an excellent choice in *Citizen Sleeper 2*.
This guide should help you decide which class to choose in *Citizen Sleeper 2* based on your play style and role-playing preferences. Each class offers unique abilities and starting bonuses, so consider what aspects of the game you enjoy most when making your decision.
