Application Description

Discover the power of audio-visual lessons designed for evangelism and basic Bible teaching, tailored from the Sunday School Lessons published by the AIC Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan. These resources have been adapted for broader use by Global Recordings Network Australia, with the gracious permission of the Africa Inland Church, Sudan. The lessons are crafted to be used alongside the audio-visual picture books provided by Global Recordings Network, making them a vital tool for engaging young learners.

These lessons emerged from a heartfelt need expressed by young educators tasked with teaching in Sunday School. The accompanying pictures serve as essential visual aids, enhancing the learning experience for children. The app features an extensive collection:

  • 226 Bible lessons spread across 9 books
  • Based on the renowned Good News and Look, Listen, and Live audio-visual programs by Global Recordings Network, accessible through the 5fish app
  • Convenient title search functionality
  • Detailed teacher instructions for each lesson
  • Option to play English audio recordings for each lesson story
  • Visual display of pictures relevant to each lesson story
  • Ability to access lessons offline (audio excluded)

Each lesson within this app is designed to last approximately twenty minutes, focusing solely on the teaching segment of the Sunday School session. The remainder of the time, including singing, prayer, Bible reading, quizzes, and other activities, is left for teachers to plan creatively. It's recommended that each lesson concludes with a brief prayer and a song that ties into the week's teaching. These lessons cater to a broad age range of children, from 7 to 12 years old.

When initially implemented, teachers manually transcribed each lesson into an exercise book on a weekly basis, hence keeping them concise. While some lessons have since been expanded, the core intent remains to provide a brief yet comprehensive outline for teachers to elaborate upon during their preparation.

The aim stated at the top of each story guides the lesson's focus. Recognizing that it's not feasible to cover the entirety of God's truth in one sitting, especially for young children, the approach is to emphasize one or two key truths per lesson. This method allows children to gradually build their understanding of God. The lesson is not intended to be read verbatim to the class; rather, it serves as a supportive tool for the teacher, akin to a walking stick rather than crutches.
