How to Use Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia
Mastering the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia: A Guide to its Use and Risks
Phasmophobia's Cursed Possessions add a thrilling layer of risk and reward to ghost hunting. The Voodoo Doll, while potentially dangerous, offers a strategic advantage in identifying ghosts. This guide explains how to obtain and utilize it effectively.
How to Use the Voodoo Doll
The Voodoo Doll's primary function is to provoke the ghost into revealing evidence. By inserting pins one by one, you can trigger actions like EMF5 readings or UV fingerprint appearances, particularly useful with elusive spirits.
The doll has ten pins. However, each pin insertion carries a sanity cost (5% per pin, up to 50% total). More significantly, hitting the heart pin (randomly selected) triggers an immediate and prolonged Cursed Hunt (20 seconds longer than usual), significantly increasing the risk of player elimination.
Despite the risks, the potential for quicker evidence gathering makes the Voodoo Doll a valuable tool for well-prepared teams.
Understanding Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia
Cursed Possessions (or Cursed Objects) are unique items that appear randomly across Phasmophobia maps, depending on difficulty and game mode. Unlike standard equipment, they offer shortcuts to manipulate ghost behavior but at a much higher risk to player sanity and survival.
The game features seven Cursed Objects:
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
- Summoning Circle
Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings). Using them is entirely optional; there's no penalty for leaving them untouched.
