Unlock Napoleon Leader for Free in Civ 7
Napoleon Bonaparte, a familiar face in the *Civilization* series, makes his grand return in *Civilization 7* (*Civ 7*). To recruit this iconic leader, you'll need to follow a few specific steps depending on which version of Napoleon you're aiming to unlock.
How to Get Napoleon, Emperor
Unlocking the Emperor Persona for Napoleon in *Civilization 7* involves setting up a 2K Account, which is quite straightforward. Here's how to do it:
- Head over to portal.2k.com.
- Log in if you already have an account, or sign up for a new one.
- Link your 2K Account to your gaming platform by navigating to Connections -> Account Overview.
Once you've completed these steps, you'll have unlocked the Emperor Persona of Napoleon. This version of Napoleon focuses on commerce and military might, boasting a unique ability called Empereur des Francais. This ability grants a Unique Sanction called Continental System, which reduces the Trade Route limit of the targeted leader to all others by 1, causes a massive Relationship penalty, and costs more to reject. Additionally, it provides +8 Gold per Age for every leader you are Unfriendly or Hostile with, and allows you to reject Endeavors for free.
The Emperor Persona follows an agenda called the Napoleonic Code, which improves his relationship with players who have the smallest standing army and worsens it with those who have the largest standing navy.
How to Get Napoleon, Revolutionary
If the Emperor Persona doesn't suit your playstyle, you can unlock Napoleon's Revolutionary Persona instead. To do this, you must have played *Civilization 6* previously. Follow the steps mentioned above to link your 2K Account, ensuring you also link *Civ 6* and *Civ 7*. Upon starting *Civ 7*, you'll find the Revolutionary Napoleon available to you.
Note that playing *Civ 6* on the same platform as *Civ 7* is not necessary for this to work.
The Revolutionary Persona focuses on cultural and militaristic strategies, featuring an ability called La Grande Armee. This ability grants +1 Movement for all Land Units and provides Culture equal to 50% of an enemy unit's Combat Strength upon defeating it.
Napoleon's Revolutionary Persona follows an agenda named Culture from Conquest, which means he dislikes leaders with numerous alliances but has a relationship bonus with players who have the highest Culture Per Turn.
That's everything you need to know about unlocking Napoleon in *Civilization 7*. Whether you prefer his Emperor or Revolutionary Persona, both versions bring unique strategies to your gameplay, enhancing your experience in the world of *Civ 7*.
