Ubisoft Reveals Customization and Progression Details for Assassin

Ubisoft has unveiled exciting new gameplay features for Assassin's Creed: Shadows, with a deep dive into the equipment and progression systems for the game's protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. A highlight that fans are sure to celebrate is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, promising thrilling gameplay experiences.

Both Yasuke and Naoe come equipped with unique skill trees designed to complement their distinct combat styles. Yasuke, the samurai, will master traditional samurai techniques, while Naoe, the shinobi, will hone her stealth and agility skills. Players can allocate skill points to unlock weapon-specific abilities or refine their fighting styles, enhancing their effectiveness in battle. Mastery points are earned through engaging with the open world, such as completing objectives or taking down formidable foes like the Daisyo samurai.

To maintain a balanced progression, both characters will develop at an even pace, ensuring neither falls behind. Unlocking powerful abilities involves specific in-game actions, such as tracking down a mysterious shinobi group. Additionally, the "Knowledge" scale plays a crucial role in character development. By studying manuscripts or praying at shrines, players can advance their Knowledge rank, unlocking new skill trees upon reaching the sixth rank.

Ubisoft also introduced the detailed equipment system, where gear is categorized into five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade their equipment at a blacksmith and customize its appearance to suit their style. Special perks on armor and weapons can significantly alter gameplay dynamics, offering strategic advantages in combat.

The Hidden Blade remains a centerpiece of the game, now capable of delivering instant kills with a single strike, adding an extra layer of excitement to stealth missions. Assassin's Creed: Shadows is set to launch globally on March 20 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, promising an immersive experience for fans of the series.
