"Tribe Nine Canceled Just Three Months Post-Launch"

Author : Sarah Update : May 25,2025

It's rare for me to express true astonishment in writing, but I think I speak for most people when I say I was shocked to learn that Tribe Nine is set to be discontinued. A recent announcement has confirmed that the servers for Tribe Nine will be shut down on November 27th, with any upcoming updates now cancelled. This marks an unfortunate and abrupt end for a game that, just a few months ago, celebrated over ten million downloads.

Tribe Nine, inspired by the anime series of the same name and featuring stunning artwork by Danganronpa's Rui Komatsuzaki, offered fans a blend of regular ARPG gameplay and the unique Xtreme Baseball boss battles. The game's sudden termination adds to a disheartening trend where many mobile game releases are cancelled within less than a year of service. This pattern can make fans hesitant to invest time and emotion into new games, given the ever-present risk of an end-of-service (EOS) announcement.

Tribeless
Given that Rui Komatsuzaki's art has been well-received in other projects like Hundred Line -Last Defence Academy- on different platforms, the decision to cancel Tribe Nine so soon after its launch seems perplexing. This move could potentially have negative repercussions for the developer, Akatsuki Games.

As Akatsuki Games prepares to launch another anime-based title, Kaiju No.8: The Game, they are undoubtedly hoping to attract fans of the original series. However, the recent track record might make casual players wary of investing in yet another game that could face the same fate. For Tribe Nine enthusiasts, today is certainly not a joyful day.
