A significant revelation from the trailer is that it's The Engineer who destroys the robots in the Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved Kelex. This detail was hinted at in a previous trailer where a distressed Superman was seen cradling Kelex after a confrontation. Additionally, the trailer introduces an action-packed moment featuring Krypto the Superdog, who bravely takes on The Engineer with a flying punch, proving that he's not afraid to get his paws dirty in the fight against evil.

The trailer also offers more screen time for other key characters, including Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, and Ultraman. Fans get a more extended look at Edi Gathegi's portrayal of Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho. The newly introduced character, The Hammer of Boravia, who was teased in a previous trailer, makes a notable appearance. Speculation suggests that this character might actually be Ultraman in disguise, a creative addition by Gunn to the Superman universe.

The relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane takes center stage in the trailer, highlighted by an intense interview where Lois confronts Superman about his controversial intervention in a foreign war. Their discussion escalates into an argument over the ethics of his actions, with Superman defending his stance by saying, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" This leads to The Hammer of Boravia launching an attack on Downtown Metropolis in retaliation.

In another compelling scene, likely from the same battle, a member of the public assists Superman out of a hole in the ground, contrasting with other moments where the public's reaction to Superman ranges from screaming to throwing objects at him, showcasing the complex relationship between the hero and the citizens he protects.
