"Star Wars: Zero Company Official Reveal by Respawn and Bit Reactor This Weekend"
Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially announced the title of its upcoming Star Wars game, along with its developer. Named Star Wars: Zero Company, the game is being crafted by the newly formed studio, Bit Reactor, with assistance from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. The first and only official artwork for Zero Company has been released, adding to the anticipation.
While details are scarce, we know that Star Wars: Zero Company will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA has promised a first look at the game during Star Wars Celebration in Japan on April 19.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, is comprised of industry veterans from notable titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it's been known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, this is the first time specific details have been shared.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat ambiguous. Respawn has faced its own set of challenges recently, including the cancellation of its Star Wars FPS project a year ago and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month, alongside significant layoffs at EA.
Further details about Star Wars: Zero Company will be unveiled at a live panel on Saturday, April 19 at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those in the U.S., this translates to an early morning event at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so make sure to set your alarms if you don't want to miss out on the excitement.
