Sonic Rumble Delayed: Sega Prepares Update
While fans eagerly awaited the global debut of Sonic Rumble, Sega has decided to delay the release of this exciting multiplayer battle royale. Originally set to capitalize on the momentum from over 1.4 million pre-registrations and a vibrant pre-launch crossover event featuring classics like Super Monkey Ball and Altered Beast, Sonic Rumble's launch has been postponed.
The reason behind this delay is the team's focus on preparing the significant version 1.2 update. This update is set to enhance Dr. Eggman’s toybox world with fresh content, including Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills. Rumble Rankings will introduce seasonal leaderboards where players can compete for rewards. Crews will allow you and your friends to tackle score missions collaboratively. Additionally, the new Skills system will equip characters with special abilities, adding a strategic depth to the gameplay.
Rather than rushing the update post-launch, Sega has chosen to refine these features before the game's debut. To keep the community engaged, Sega has scheduled a Q&A session for May 2nd on Discord. This will be a great opportunity for fans to get insights into what’s coming next and ask their burning questions.

The delay won't affect the pre-registration rewards you've earned. You’re still set to receive 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and the exclusive Movie Sonic skin for reaching the 1.4 million pre-registration milestone. These goodies will be waiting for you when Sonic Rumble finally launches.
