Serial Cleaner tasks you with cleaning up crime scenes while under the influence of a moustache
Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Remember this 2019 title? This time, it's hitting mobile, but will it be a refined re-release or a simple port? Let's investigate.
The game throws you into the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, and maybe a few cinematic exaggerations (flying turkeys, anyone?). You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner tasked with the messy job of disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and erasing all evidence of mob violence – all while dodging the police.
Our 2019 review described the original as "half-baked but with potential." Developer Plug-in Digital is now self-publishing this mobile version, suggesting a chance for improvement.
A Fresh Coat of Paint?
Available for pre-registration now, with a February 11th, 2025 release date, the extent of the changes remains unclear. While a polished update would be welcome given the mixed reception of the original, significant improvements might be optimistic.
The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile port dampens expectations somewhat. However, Android and iOS users who missed out previously, or experienced compatibility issues, might consider this an early gift.
