Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme
Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is rolling out the red carpet with a nostalgic twist. The festivities kick off with a special event starting on May 1st, 2025, bringing back cherished memories of classic Nintendo gadgets.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Throughout its journey, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with unique decor, from Pikmin donning Mahjong Tiles to Playing Cards. This 3.5th anniversary marks a special tribute by reintroducing iconic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s into the game.
Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be available, honoring Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. These cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card designs.
The event, running from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, offers a full month for players to engage in missions and collect these exciting new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, which, when destroyed, yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at smashing these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
May brings a blooming spectacle with the potential to grow into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or special anniversary roses. By planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around these flowers, you can enhance their growth.
A nectar update accompanies the celebration, ensuring that fruit from mushrooms in May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for the special varieties like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
Beyond the anniversary event, there are other exciting happenings, including a Community Day. Download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready to join the 3.5th anniversary festivities.
