People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This collaboration is set to bring forth a new game, currently shrouded in mystery under the codename Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, this project is designated as a work-for-hire, yet specifics about the game remain under wraps, leaving fans and gamers eagerly awaiting more details.

People Can Fly is no stranger to juggling multiple projects. Their portfolio currently includes several other intriguing endeavors, each with its own codename. Among these is Project Gemini, developed in partnership with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. They are also working on Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which seems to be another collaboration with Sony, and the VR title Project Bison. Notably, just yesterday, People Can Fly announced that Project Bison would mark their final venture into VR gaming.

The studio faced some setbacks recently. Last December, they announced the suspension of work on Project Victoria and a scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they made the tough decision to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was in development with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these challenges, People Can Fly remains a powerhouse of creativity, with eight projects currently in the works. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their partnership with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release, keeping fans on the edge of their seats for what's to come.
