Nintendo Switch Successor Trademark Rumors

A leaked logo potentially reveals the Nintendo Switch 2's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been circulating since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence. A full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch expected later this year.

The timing of the new console's release has been widely speculated since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained tight-lipped. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, most leaks point towards it. Many also suggest a similar design to the original Switch, hinting at a direct successor.

According to Comicbook, a logo purportedly belonging to the Nintendo Switch 2 surfaced online. Shared on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe, the logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above "Nintendo Switch," with the only difference being a "2" added next to the Joy-Cons. This strongly suggests "Nintendo Switch 2" will be the official name.

Is "Switch 2" the Real Name?

The logo's authenticity remains unverified, and some question whether "Nintendo Switch 2" is the actual name. Nintendo's past naming conventions have been less predictable, with the Wii U being a notable exception. The Wii U's unconventional name is believed by some to have negatively impacted sales, potentially influencing Nintendo to adopt a more straightforward approach this time.

Previous leaks generally support the logo and name shared by Felipe. However, gamers should treat all current rumors as unconfirmed until an official announcement. Another recent social media post hints at a potentially earlier-than-expected reveal.
