Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrades for Games like Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime 4 Announced
During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled exciting news for fans: nearly the entire Nintendo Switch library will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. However, a select group of games will receive enhanced "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" versions, boasting unique features and upgrades. Titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Mario Party: Jamboree are among those getting special treatment.
Each game's Nintendo Switch 2 Edition offers different benefits. For instance, Super Mario Party: Jamboree introduces "Jamboree TV," which enhances gameplay with mouse controls, audio recognition, more expressive rumble, and the use of a new camera accessory.
*The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* are set to receive upgraded resolution and framerate, along with HDR support. Additionally, a new feature called Zelda Notes will be available on the Nintendo Switch Online app, offering voice guidance to help locate Shrines and Koroks, and the ability to share creations in *Tears of the Kingdom* via QR codes with friends.Kirby and the Forgotten Land will feature a new story exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 called Star-Crossed World, along with improved graphics and framerates.
New releases like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will boast mouse control capabilities, 4K 60fps, and HDR, while Pokemon Legends: Z-A will see enhanced resolution and framerates.
All these upgraded games will be available in both physical and digital formats. Additionally, upgrade packs will be available for purchase for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Party, and Kirby, allowing owners of the original Switch versions to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
