NieR: Automata - Where To Get Beast Hide
NieR: Automata boasts a diverse arsenal of weapons, allowing players to experiment across multiple playthroughs. Each weapon offers multiple upgrade levels, extending their viability and enabling completion of the game with a single favorite weapon, if desired.
Weapon upgrades are accessible at the Resistance Camp, requiring specific resources. One crucial material, Beast Hides, isn't readily available; acquiring them efficiently requires a strategic approach.
Obtaining Beast Hides in NieR: Automata
Beast Hides are dropped by wildlife such as moose and boar. These creatures appear randomly in designated map areas, generally avoiding players and robots. Their white icons on the mini-map distinguish them from the black icons of machines. Farming wildlife is less straightforward than farming machines due to their less frequent spawns; knowing their locations is key.
Moose and boar inhabit the game's ruined city and forest zones. Their behavior (fleeing or attacking) depends on the player's level relative to theirs. Higher-level animals may become aggressive even without provocation. Wildlife possesses substantial health, making early-game encounters challenging, especially against similarly leveled or stronger creatures.
Animal Bait can lure wildlife closer, simplifying hunts.
Wildlife, unlike consistently respawning enemies, requires exploration to find. Respawn mechanics are similar to machines:
- Fast traveling resets all enemies and wildlife.
- Sufficient distance traveled triggers respawns in previously visited areas.
- Story progression can also lead to respawns.
Efficient Beast Hide farming isn't easily achieved. Consistent hunting of wildlife encountered during exploration in forest and city ruin areas generally yields sufficient hides. The drop rate is favorable, ensuring that accumulating excessive hides is unlikely, provided you don't simultaneously upgrade more weapons than you can equip.
