First, you need to unlock this crafting feature. Complete the main story to reach High Rank, then defeat your first Tempered monster. You'll know which one it is—the NPCs will make it clear how formidable this beast is.
After the victory, Gemma will contact you to discuss Artian weapons, initiating a tutorial. You'll learn that she can now craft them. Each weapon type uses three components; you need at least one of each to craft a weapon. However, there's more to it than that.
Components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus. Only components of the same rarity can be combined. The weapon's elemental effect depends on the most frequent element among your components. Two water and one lightning component create a water weapon. Three water components yield a stronger water infusion. Three different elements result in no elemental infusion.
The Artian bonus boosts either attack or affinity (critical hit chance). Choose the bonus that best suits your playstyle. To craft, you'll need Artian materials.
How to Obtain Artian Materials in Monster Hunter: World
Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Several roam each area after defeating your first. In-game notifications alert you to their presence; they’re marked with blue outlines on the map.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields Artian parts, found among your post-mission rewards, alongside decorations. Rarity increases with your hunter rank. While there's no direct correlation between hunted monster and Artian drop type, hunt monsters you enjoy or need parts from for other gear.
