Rey Dau, the first dragon monster you'll encounter in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, wields the lightning element, making it immune to this element but vulnerable to others, particularly water and ice. Aim for its head, which has a 4-star weakness, or its wings with a 3-star weakness for optimal damage. Avoid targeting the sturdy torso or the well-protected legs. Instead, consider the tail as an alternative target if hitting the head proves challenging. For status ailments, all are effective except Stun and Paralysis, given Rey Dau's immunity to lightning.

Use a Flash Pod

If dodging is your weak point, position yourself near Rey Dau's legs, as the dragon primarily attacks areas in front of and behind it, minimizing your risk of getting hit.

Pay Attention to the Environment

Rey Dau's mobility during the fight requires you to be aware of your surroundings. In the open plains, use Vine Traps found on lone trees to stun the dragon temporarily. Be cautious when the dragon returns to its nest, as it unleashes a follow-up lightning attack that can stun you. Patience is key here to avoid a fatal shock.
