Switch Shader Compilation Mode

Marvel Rivals to Reduce Memory Usage and Improve Stability With Experimental FeatureNetEase is rolling out a new experimental feature to boost Marvel Rivals’ stability and lower memory usage. On April 30, Marvel Rivals announced the upcoming release of Switch Shader Compilation Mode, aimed at delivering a smoother experience—particularly for players with lower RAM configurations or FPS issues.

Alongside the announcement, Marvel Rivals published a blog post outlining what to expect from this feature. The developers acknowledged player concerns about performance stutters and crashes caused by excessive memory use during gameplay.

With the Season 2 update, players can enable this option via the PC launcher.” This feature is recommended for systems with 16GB of RAM or less.

Once activated, the game will improve in the following ways:

● Shader compilation will occur only upon first launching the game after a new version or graphics driver update.
● Memory usage will drop significantly, reducing severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes caused by memory shortages.

However, developers have noted a few known issues when using this mode. For example, certain materials may render abnormally for a few frames at the start of each match, but will normalize shortly after. Some minor stutters may also occur but typically resolve themselves for the rest of the match.
