Leaked Sony Trailer Reveals Stellar Blade PC Release Date, New Features, Boss Fight, and 25 Outfits
The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, bringing with it a host of PC-specific features, as revealed by a trailer that Sony accidentally leaked on the PlayStation YouTube channel. Although the trailer was quickly removed, it was captured and shared across the internet, and we anticipate an official release soon.
The trailer also unveiled a Complete Edition of Shift Up's acclaimed PS5 action game, Stellar Blade. This edition includes the base game along with all the DLC released to date for both PS5 and PC. This news follows over a year after Stellar Blade's successful launch on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC comes equipped with a range of features tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display support, enhanced environmental textures, and DualSense support for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also introduced a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and showcased 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, a curious detail at the end of the trailer showed Eve releasing a memory stick, a scene not present in the base game. This has sparked speculation about a potential new ending or upcoming DLC for Stellar Blade.
Stellar Blade was a major success for Korean developer Shift Up, generating $43 million in royalties in its last financial year. The studio anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version, which sold over 1 million copies in just two months. Shift Up has also expressed interest in developing another game in the franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, fighting to reclaim Earth from unknown invaders in a fast-paced action role-playing game. The game received a 7/10 from IGN, praised for its action elements but noted for its lackluster characters, story, and some frustrating RPG mechanics. Despite these criticisms, Stellar Blade quickly became popular and sold a million copies.
