Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

Author : Mia Update : May 04,2025

Exciting news for fans of the Battlefield series: early gameplay footage of EA's highly anticipated next installment has surfaced online, following a closed playtesting session. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user known as anto_merguezz inadvertently shared footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest, designed to gather crucial feedback from a select group of players. Although no clips remain on anto_merguezz's Twitch channel, the leaked footage has quickly spread across the internet, with Reddit being a major platform for its circulation.

The leaked footage provides a glimpse into what appears to be a "modern" setting, aligning with hints previously dropped by Vince Zampella. This setting differentiates the upcoming game from its predecessors, which have explored historical and futuristic themes. Viewers of the leaked footage have been treated to sequences of intense firefights and demonstrations of the game's hallmark destructible environments. The initial reaction from the fanbase has been overwhelmingly positive, which bodes well for the game's reception, especially in light of the lukewarm response to Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

Just last month, we received our first official look at what the next Battlefield game has in store. Notably, EA has confirmed the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was notably absent in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042, much to the chagrin of many players.

EA has set its sights on a fiscal 2026 release for this new Battlefield title, which places the launch window between April 2025 and March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals and updates from EA. Given the recent leak, it's clear that the excitement (and the leaks) surrounding the game are building momentum, and EA might need to accelerate their official showcases to keep ahead of the curve.

IGN has reached out to EA for a statement on the matter.
