PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced that Ghost of Yōtei will launch on October 2, 2025. The trailer concludes with the confirmation of the eagerly awaited release date.

Set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei follows the story of Atsu, who seeks vengeance against the Yōtei Six, a notorious group of outlaws responsible for the death of her family. These outlaws, known as The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito, are Atsu's targets as she vows to hunt them down one by one.

This standalone sequel builds on the foundation laid by its predecessor, introducing new weapons, mechanics, and features to enrich the gaming experience.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order, crafting their unique path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed this feature on PlayStation.blog on April 23, shedding light on Atsu's journey and the game's open-world exploration.

The game enhances the open-world experience, providing more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest of hunting down the Yōtei Six, players can engage in various activities within Ezo, such as tracking other dangerous targets, claiming bounties, and learning new skills from weapon sensei.

Familiar elements from the original game, like the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature, return, alongside new mechanics such as the ability to build campfires anywhere in the open world. The developers emphasize player choice and freedom in Ezo, with more details to be shared in the coming months.
