During the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco introduced Digimon Alysion, a brand-new mobile trading card game (TCG) that's currently in development. Inspired by the success of other mobile TCGs like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, Digimon Alysion aims to expand its TCG audience by entering the mobile gaming arena.

Digimon Alysion is designed as a free-to-play digital card game, allowing players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, build their decks, and engage in battles with other players. What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its inclusion of an in-depth story mode, offering players a rich narrative experience alongside traditional and competitive gameplay.

Alongside the announcement, Bandai released a new trailer for Digimon Alysion, showcasing snippets of gameplay and introducing an all-female cast speculated to be part of the story mode. New characters include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a new Digimon called Gemmon.

While there's no official release window for Digimon Alysion yet, the presentation hinted at an upcoming closed beta test, with more details to be shared later.

DIGIMON CON 2025 also shed more light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game's history, main characters, and the special moves of some featured Digimon during the livestream.

Hara confirmed that players can choose from three starter Digimon at the game's outset: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon, all popular characters from the original Digimon Adventure anime. These selections had been speculated by fans, who noticed their inclusion in the game's main promotional artwork.

Time Stranger boasts an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory, which featured 330 Digimon. The new trailer highlighted some of these Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the fan-favorite Agumon.

Hara also revealed details about the game's story and characters. Players can choose between two protagonists: Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, both secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization dedicated to uncovering threats to humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon, will join players on their adventure. The game's title hints at a focus on time travel, with the protagonist being thrown back and forth through different eras.

The event also featured other exciting announcements, including a 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and the upcoming anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025.
