"Cyberpunk 2077 Lunar DLC: Unreleased Space Expansion Details"

Cyberpunk 2077 was set to venture into the cosmos with a planned DLC that would have transported players to the Moon, a project that, unfortunately, never saw the light of day. Blogger and dataminer SirMZK has meticulously gathered leaks and files from the game’s code, revealing CD Projekt RED’s grand vision for this space-themed expansion.

Within the game’s files, there are hints of lunar surface maps, detailed zones such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model for a rover. The Moon location was envisioned to be vast, potentially occupying a quarter of Night City's size, and designed as an open-world environment. This would have offered players a fresh and expansive gameplay experience, far removed from the familiar neon-lit streets of Night City.

A highlight of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. Although it didn't make it into the final version of the game, players can still catch a glimpse of it during one of the game's endings, when V looks out of a spaceship window. Moreover, the files uncovered a prototype for a zero-gravity bar, connected to a cut quest named "201", which was part of the Arasaka storyline.

Fans are optimistic that these ambitious concepts might find their way into CD Projekt RED's next venture, Orion, which aims to further expand the Cyberpunk universe. However, there has been no official word from the studio about reviving these ideas.

Though the Moon DLC remains an unrealized dream for now, the details that have surfaced offer a tantalizing glimpse of what could have been—a daring leap for Cyberpunk 2077 into new, unexplored realms, seamlessly blending space exploration with the game's distinctive cyberpunk flair.
