"Capcom Revives Breath of Fire IV on PC After 25 Years"
Breath of Fire IV, Capcom’s beloved role-playing game, has made a triumphant return to PC, 25 years following its initial release. Originally launched on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, and in Europe in 2001, the game saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. Now, fans can relive the adventure of Ryu, a protagonist with the unique ability to transform into a dragon, as he joins forces with other warriors to thwart an emperor's plans to destroy the world.
As part of its ongoing Preservation Program, GOG has meticulously updated Breath of Fire IV for contemporary PCs, releasing it DRM-free on their platform. This enhanced version is fully optimized for modern systems, boasting compatibility with Windows 10 and 11. Players can enjoy the game in both English and Japanese, thanks to the updated localizations. The graphics have been significantly improved with an upgraded DirectX renderer, new display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction for enhanced visuals. Additionally, the audio engine has been upgraded, bringing back missing environmental sounds and introducing new configuration options for a richer gaming experience.
