Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1
Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that emphasize competition through fast clear times. In response, Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating, issuing a clear warning to maintain a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.
In a recent post on their X/Twitter account, Capcom stated, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts found to be in violation may face suspension or restrictions, including the inability to receive rewards from these quests." This message underscores Capcom's commitment to integrity within the game.
Moreover, Capcom highlighted that players joining multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk invalidating their quest completion times and forfeiting their "right to rewards." The company advised players to be cautious and avoid playing with those engaging in or suspected of prohibited activities. They also encouraged players to report any fraudulent behavior they encounter during quests.
The upcoming quests will offer cosmetic pendants as rewards, with some available to all participants and others based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This reward system explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it directly impacts the fairness and enjoyment of the game.
These Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, following the release of Title Update 1. Players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Make sure to prioritize this once the update goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
