Blizzard Unveils New WoW Housing Details

In 2025, World of Warcraft enthusiasts can look forward to a groundbreaking addition to the game—the long-awaited housing system. Blizzard has unveiled initial details, promising that homes will be accessible to all players, free from complex requirements, exorbitant prices, or lottery systems. Importantly, these homes won't be revoked even if a player's subscription lapses. The full rollout of this exciting feature is slated for the Midnight expansion.

Upon launch, players will have the opportunity to select their plot in one of two designated zones. Alliance players can choose Elwynn Forest, which incorporates elements from Westfall and Duskwood, while Horde players can opt for Durotar, featuring elements from Azshara and the Durotar coastline. Each zone will be segmented into districts, housing around 50 homes per district. Players can opt to settle in an open area or form a private community with friends and guildmates, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

Blizzard is committed to offering extensive customization options for these homes. Most decoration items will be obtainable within the game, ensuring that players have plenty of in-game opportunities to personalize their spaces. Additionally, some unique items will be available through the in-game shop, catering to those who wish to add a special touch to their homes.

The housing system is designed around three core principles: extensive customization, social interaction, and longevity. Blizzard aims to create a living, breathing environment where players can express their creativity, connect with others, and enjoy their homes for the long term. As the system's development progresses, Blizzard promises to provide more detailed information. In the meantime, they encourage the WoW community to share their thoughts and ideas about this new feature.
