"Award-Winning Documentary Game Atuel Launches on Android Soon"
Matajuegos has exciting news for fans of innovative gaming: their surrealist documentary game, Atuel, is set to launch on PC and Android later this year. Eager players can already pre-register on the newly launched Steam page, with Google Play expected to follow suit shortly.
Hailing from Argentina, the indie co-op Matajuegos first introduced Atuel on itch.io back in September 2022. The game quickly caught the eye of gamers and critics alike, praised for its groundbreaking mix of documentary storytelling, experimental gameplay, and breathtaking dreamlike visuals.
The accolades didn't stop there. Atuel clinched the 'Innovation in Experience Design Award' at IndieCade 2022, alongside numerous other awards celebrating its pioneering approach to documentary gaming. Its uniqueness has earned it prestigious showcases, including at the Marché du Film at Cannes and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

What Do You Do in Atuel, the Documentary Game?
Atuel delves into the story of the Atuel River Valley in Argentina, a region of stunning beauty that's grappling with the impacts of climate change. Rather than a traditional game, Atuel offers an immersive experience where you morph into various animals and elements of the ecosystem, becoming intimately connected with the landscape.
From soaring through the skies to embodying the river itself, the gameplay shifts dramatically, offering a unique perspective on the environment. The game also features real-life interviews with historians, biologists, geologists, and local residents, shedding light on the valley's history, current state, and the looming challenges posed by climate change.
In a remarkable collaboration, Matajuegos partnered with The 12.01 Project, an international documentary team, to weave these compelling narratives into the game. The visuals, inspired by the Cuyo desert, lend the game an otherworldly feel, setting it apart in the gaming landscape.
While Android users await the pre-registration opening, everyone can explore the Steam page or visit the official website for more details. Once Atuel hits mobile platforms, it will come with localization in seven new languages and full controller support, enhancing the gaming experience across devices.
In the meantime, don't miss our exclusive coverage of another exciting new title, Open World Ski and Snowboard Game Grand Mountain Adventure 2.
