Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Author : Sebastian Update : May 17,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the latest GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, priced at just $2,399.99 shipped. This price point represents one of the best deals available for an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt system, especially considering the steady price increases seen across other brands since the RTX 50 series launch in January. At Dell, the next comparable prebuilt system with an RTX 5080 GPU would set you back over $4,000. Additionally, attempting to source a standalone RTX 5080 GPU for a DIY PC build might cost you as much as this complete system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU paired with a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, a Meteor Lake CPU, features a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. The system is cooled efficiently by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of the three newly released Blackwell graphics cards, which have been notoriously hard to find. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already own a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not offer a significant upgrade – its performance is only marginally better than the RTX 4080, although the DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation does enhance the visual quality in supported games. However, for those with older graphics cards looking for a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers impressively, especially if you're keen on leveraging Nvidia’s AI enhancements."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a similar look to the 2024 R16 system but features minor aesthetic and cooling updates along with refreshed components. The I/O panel has been repositioned to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a cleaner interior. The internal components have been updated with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
