Hexanaut.io is an IO game focused on conquering the largest territory possible. Beware of cutting your own line or being cut by another player. Map totems can be captured for powerful bonuses. How much area can you dominate? Test your skills in this territorial conquest challenge.

HEXANAUT GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Use your mouse to navigate the map. Leave your territory to draw a line and claim new land. Returning to your territory closes the loop and captures all enclosed tiles.

Outside your borders, you’re vulnerable. If another player crosses your trail, you’ll be cut off and must restart.

Capture 20% of the map to become a Hexanaut. Maintain over 20% territory for two minutes after achieving this rank to win the game.

Note: If you're eliminated while an opponent is a Hexanaut, you cannot rejoin that match.

CAPTURE TOTEMS

Hexanaut.io features five unique totems to capture. Seize them safely when possible—each provides distinct advantages to help you dominate the map and achieve Hexanaut status.

SPREADING TOTEM

The Spreading Totem is the only totem that directly captures hexes for you. Once claimed, it fires lasers that claim tiles one by one. This is especially useful early game when securing land is challenging.

SPEED TOTEM

The Speed Totem boosts your movement speed by 5%. While this seems minor, stacking two or three creates a noticeable advantage. Prioritize these totems for better performance.

TELEPORTING GATE

Teleporting Gates provide instant point-to-point travel. They’re invaluable for quickly crossing large territories, saving significant time. Use them to ambush enemies—surprise attackers at your borders by teleporting across the map to cut them off.

SLOWING TOTEM

The Slowing Totem creates a zone that massively slows all other players who enter, like a spiderweb. Use this speed advantage to eliminate any opponents caught inside. Conversely, avoid enemy slow zones—don't engage where they hold such a large edge.

SPY DISH

The Spy Dish reveals all other players' territories. This becomes crucial as your empire grows, highlighting which areas are under attack and need immediate defense against encroaching opponents.

IS HEXANAUT A MULTIPLAYER GAME?

Yes and no. Hexanaut is an IO game, meaning lobbies mix real players and bots on the same server. This system allows for fast matchmaking in large lobbies without requiring a constant, massive player base. Bots behave like real people, ensuring quick entry into games.
