Afin de renforcer la coopération industrie-université dans l'industrie du jeu, Capcom a organisé le premier Capcom Game Competition, un nouvel événement de développement de jeux pour les étudiants japonais. Regardons de plus près !

Capcom a annoncé le premier Capcom Game Contest, un concours de développement de jeux utilisant le moteur RE unique de Capcom et ouvert aux élèves des écoles japonaises. Capcom espère promouvoir le développement de la recherche scientifique dans les universités et cultiver des talents de jeu exceptionnels grâce à la coopération industrie-université, favorisant ainsi le progrès de l'ensemble de l'industrie du jeu.

Les étudiants participants formeront une équipe de 20 personnes maximum, et chaque membre se verra attribuer un rôle en fonction du type de poste de production de jeux. Avec le soutien de développeurs professionnels de Capcom, l'équipe développera un jeu ensemble pendant six mois, en apprenant "des processus de développement de jeux de pointe". En outre, Capcom prévoit également de fournir « un soutien à la production de jeux et des opportunités de commercialisation » aux gagnants du concours.

Éligibilité : étudiants âgés de plus de 18 ans et étudiant actuellement dans une université, une école supérieure ou une école professionnelle japonaise.

Le moteur RE (Reach for the Moon Engine) est un moteur de jeu développé indépendamment par Capcom en 2014 et a été utilisé à l'origine dans "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" en 2017. Il a depuis été utilisé dans plusieurs jeux Capcom, notamment plusieurs autres jeux récents Resident Evil, Dragon's Dogma 2, Devil May Cry: Stand Alone et le prochain Monster Hunter Rise de l'année prochaine. Le moteur est également constamment développé et mis à niveau pour développer des jeux de meilleure qualité.
