Application Description

Chess enthusiasts who are fond of the theme of the Three Kingdoms will find great excitement in a game that blends strategy, history, and classic Chinese chess. This unique chess variant, known as Xiangqi, combines traditional gameplay with additional modes, offering players the chance to conquer levels, challenge legendary heroes, and sharpen their skills in endgame techniques. As a two-player strategic board game originating from China, Xiangqi boasts a rich history and remains highly popular due to its simplicity and depth.

The game features thirty-two chess pieces divided into two factions—red and black—each comprising sixteen pieces distributed across seven types. Below is a detailed description of each chessman and their movements:

Red Chess Pieces:

  • Shuai (King)/He Will (General): The leader of each side, representing the ultimate goal to capture. Moves one step vertically or horizontally within the "Nine Palaces," avoiding direct alignment with the opponent's counterpart to prevent immediate capture.
  • Shi (Advisor)/Taxis: Moves diagonally within the Nine Palaces, limited to its boundaries.
  • Xiang (Elephant)/Phase: Moves two diagonal steps at a time, staying within the river boundary and skipping over the central point if occupied.
  • Ju (Rook): Moves unlimitedly along horizontal or vertical lines unless obstructed, controlling up to seventeen points.
  • Pao (Cannon): Moves similarly to the Rook but requires a "jump" over another piece to capture.
  • Ma (Knight)/Horse: Moves in an "L" shape, leaping over obstructing pieces.
  • Bing (Soldier)/Pawn: Moves forward until crossing the river, where it gains lateral movement capabilities.

Black Chess Pieces:
The Black pieces follow identical rules but mirror the Red pieces' movements.

Players alternate turns, adhering to Sun Tzu's principles of warfare, aiming to "checkmate" or strategically trap the opponent's King. Through intricate gameplay, participants enhance their analytical and tactical thinking skills.
