Call upon demons to triumph in the French Revolution! Will you defend the Republic, reinstate the monarchy, command France yourself, or meet a bloody end?

"Revolution Diabolique" is a 425,000-word interactive dark fantasy novel by Chris Conley. Experience a purely text-based adventure, free from graphics or sound, and driven entirely by the boundless strength of your imagination.

As a demonologist in eighteenth-century France, you delve into the world's most perilous forbidden arts from the seclusion of your country estate. You can summon an astonishing range of demons: some subtly stalk your foes to mislead and disturb them; others manifest as horrifying beasts; and a few may guide you toward even deeper cosmic secrets.

But as revolutionary fires begin to blaze, you can no longer remain aloof from the political struggle. Every faction—monarchists, republicans, peasants, intellectuals, anarchists—craves to wield your power. Where will you deploy your demons? Will you unleash them on the battlefield to support or sabotage the Revolution’s armies—or march directly on Paris? Could you steer a political movement using the arcane knowledge you’ve uncovered? Or perhaps inspire a new cult devoted to demonic forces?

Yet all power demands sacrifice. As you ascend, you may forfeit your reputation, your wealth, your safety…or even your life.

When the turmoil subsides, will you be the one ruling France?
