WoW: Turbulent Timeways Guide Released

Although the 20th Anniversary celebration in *World of Warcraft* has ended, there’s still plenty to do while players eagerly await the arrival of Patch 11.1 later this year. Filling the gap between major content updates, Blizzard has brought back the special event known as Turbulent Timeways—a familiar sight from the downtime during the Dragonflight expansion. This time-limited event offers players a chance to earn a unique reward by collecting the Mastery of Timeways buff multiple times throughout the event duration.

Turbulent Timeways Event Explained

While regular Timewalking events are usually spaced out across different weeks, the Turbulent Timeways event brings five consecutive Timewalking dungeon rotations active all at once—from January 1 through February 25. Each week highlights a different set of dungeons tied to specific expansions. Here's the full schedule:

• Week 1: Mists of Pandaria (January 7 – January 14)
• Week 2: Warlords of Draenor (January 14 – January 21)
• Week 3: Legion (January 21 – January 28)
• Week 4: Classic (January 28 – February 4)
• Week 5: The Burning Crusade (February 4 – February 11)
• Week 6: Wrath of the Lich King (February 11 – February 18)
• Week 7: Cataclysm (February 18 – February 25)

Each time you complete a Timewalking Dungeon during this period, you’ll earn one stack of the Knowledge of Timeways buff. This buff lasts for two hours, doesn’t expire upon death, and grants a 5% bonus to experience gained from monsters and quests. Once you accumulate four stacks of Knowledge of Timeways, it upgrades to the Mastery of Timeways buff—which lasts three hours and increases experience gains by 30%. Like its predecessor, this powerful buff is not lost on death. Additionally, completing more Timewalking Dungeons will refresh the timer on both buffs.

To successfully earn the Mastery of Timeways buff, you must collect four stacks within the time limit—without letting the buff expire. Try to stay active and avoid long AFK periods, or you might lose your progress and have to start over from zero stacks.

Turbulent Timeways Rewards

Beyond boosting your leveling speed, Turbulent Timeways also includes some exclusive rewards for dedicated players. One returning favorite is the Sandy Shalewing mount, which can be purchased from Timewalking Vendors for 5,000 Timewarped Badges. This mount was previously available during the last Turbulent Timeways event in the Dragonflight era.

This year also introduces a brand-new reward: the Timely Buzzbee mount. To unlock this unique mount, players must obtain the Mastery of Timeways buff during at least five of the seven active weeks of the Turbulent Timeways event. It's a fun and rewarding challenge that encourages participation across multiple Timewalking rotations.
