Star Wars Tactics Revealed at 2025 Event

EA's highly anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game will make its debut at Star Wars Celebration 2025.

Originally announced in early 2022, this untitled strategy title is being developed by Bit Reactor - a studio founded by XCOM franchise veterans. The team has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment (creators of Star Wars Jedi) and is now prepared to unveil their project to the world.

Fans will get their first glimpse during a live panel on April 19, featuring key developers from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.

While concrete details remain scarce - including the game's Star Wars era setting and precise gameplay mechanics - its development by former XCOM creators strongly suggests a similar tactical experience infused with Star Wars lore.

Meanwhile, Respawn continues developing the third installment in its Star Wars Jedi trilogy, though no appearances are expected at this year's Celebration. The studio previously canceled another Star Wars project (a rumored Mandalorian-themed FPS) following EA's restructuring that affected 670 employees. More recently, Respawn discontinued an experimental multiplayer FPS project with undisclosed staff reductions.

Other Star Wars Celebration highlights will include previews of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie (scheduled for May 2026) and Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
