Sony Releases New PS5 and PS4 Updates: Details Revealed
Sony has rolled out new system software updates for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, refining key features and enhancing the overall user experience.
The PS5 system update 25.02-11.00.00, sized at 1.3GB, brings several meaningful improvements. Activity cards now display full details, making it easier to track in-game progress—while still keeping potential spoilers hidden until you're ready. This update also adds support for Unicode 16.0 emojis, allowing users to express themselves with the latest emoji set in messages across the platform.
Parental controls have been adjusted: when setting the restriction level to Late Teens or Older, the Communication and User-Generated Content option now defaults to Restrict. Users who previously configured this setting will retain their custom preferences, which will be labeled as Customize to reflect the unchanged configuration.
As expected, this update includes under-the-hood enhancements to improve system performance, stability, and interface usability across select menus.
