A Japanese YouTuber achieved a remarkable feat in Pokémon TCG Pocket, accumulating a staggering 50,000 cards through consistent daily Poké Gold purchases since the game's launch. Japanese YouTuber's Massive Pokémon TCG Pocket Card Collection
A $8,500+ Investment (Excluding Sales)
Hajimesyacho, a prominent Japanese YouTuber known for diverse content, revealed his impressive collection on Twitter (X). Since the game's October 30, 2024 launch, he's consistently bought the maximum 720 Poké Gold daily, amounting to approximately $100 per day. Over 85 days, this translates to an estimated $8,500 expenditure, excluding any potential savings from sales events.
This dedication allowed him to acquire virtually every card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, along with limited-edition promo cards. The recently released "Pokedex" Trainer card, a reward for the global 40 billion card milestone, further showcases the game's scale.
McDonald's and Pokémon TCG Pocket Team Up!
The Pokémon Company announced a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's on January 21, 2025. Happy Meal purchases now include exclusive Pokémon-themed boxes containing collectible physical cards and in-game items.
Fifteen unique physical cards, including popular Pokémon like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza (seven of which are holo/foil cards), are up for grabs. Pokémon TCG Pocket players also receive in-game rewards: 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses for booster pack openings and Wonder Pick selections.
Four distinct Happy Meal box designs featuring Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, Dragonite, and Pikachu are available at participating McDonald's restaurants while supplies last. Remember, in-game rewards expire on March 31, 2025.
Trading Feature and New Booster Pack on the Horizon
Pokémon TCG Pocket announced details regarding its upcoming trading feature on January 17, 2025. Trading is limited to friends and cards of similar rarity (1-4 diamonds and 1-star). Rarer cards are excluded. A consumable item, similar to Stardust in Pokémon GO, will facilitate trades.
Initially, trading will include cards from Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, with the team promising expanded options based on player feedback. A new booster pack is also slated for release in January, though the exact date remains undisclosed.
